My Fisher Price one has given up the ghost! my bus is stock height so needs to be quite a high lifter. I can’t afford professional standard but not cheapo. Looking for best value for money around £100 maximum I suppose. Any good recommendations on best buys for a trolley jack that’s good for our busses? thank you.
Two votes for SGS. I also bought thier spreader bar and beefy axle stands Sent from my ONEPLUS A6013 using Tapatalk
SGS are just up the road from us so I do buy a few bits from them from time to time. You can get warehouse returns for discount if you call ahead. Returned tool boxes with damaged corners etc, although it's best to view in person as sometimes falling off a tail lift does more damage than the 'its just a little scratch mate' assesment of the warehouse man. I use a jack like this... https://www.carparts4less.co.uk/p/t...Zk1BiUTPhlZ-Y7jAcwNMiRCWWNSBbIt4aAhx7EALw_wcB 500mm quick lift and robust. It's heavy, but then it's got to cope with a lot of weight potentially. Initially bought a Clarke one from Machinemart and it was rubbish!
@ginger ninja , mine is a Hilka. Just got to the shop and thought I'd check for you. Iirc it came from Screwfix in the end but that was a few years ago. I'm sure it'll be branding. Anyway, pic for size comparison, my size tens for scale...
Yeah, the bus is stock on 185r14s. I use it on the syncro as well and that has a 20mm lift. That block of ply on the saddle thing just softens the metal to metal contact. It's big enough to lift the bus and the T3 onto axle stands, but it is at full extension unless I use blocks on the T3. The Bus is no problem
@ginger ninja That's it extended to about 450mm with one of the syncro spares for comparison. They're 215/75r 15 so about 2 inches bigger in diameter than stock bus tyres
I went for the same as Doug, i think 3 Ton Heavy Duty Garage one with 520mm of lift. Less than £100 It is really heavy!
Sgs 3 three tonner here - lifts plenty high - enough to lift both wheels on one side of the syncro (215/75 r15) off the ground on the hard shoulder of the M5 when I got a flat and had to play swapsie all the tyres around.
Hehe, they are the next 2 jobs on the list. 2 syncro transaxles. As soon as I get this back from Holman Engineering. It's a jig for adjusting our bay boxes. I'll then sort out trader status with admin here...and get the balls rolling
