Hi there I am getting close to finishing of my 78 bay 2.0 type 4 engine. I can't remember where a petrol breather pipe goes the pipe has two pipes coming from the fuel tank and ends up by the engine lid, where it branches of with one end spare ie three ways can you please help. And also a couple of wires the come of the control unit for the battery light in the engine bay. They are both positive and I think they are ment to be together to switch the battery light off when started but the battery light stays on. Any suggestions would be great many thanks.
Ok cheers dude but I have twin carbs on it and thought that the vacuum pipe from the dizzy went to the carbs? Soz a little bit lost. I do not have the heater box connected either.
Look here - nice diagram of the breathers: http://thelatebay.com/index.php?threads/sucking-sound-around-the-fuel-cap.34831/#post-603503
Great thanks for the advise so should I connect the vacuum pipe firm the dizzy cap to the other carb?
The fuel tank breather should be connected to the top of one of your air filters, the crankcase breather should be connected to the top of the other air filter. The vacuum connection on the carb should go to vacuum can on the distributor (not the cap).
Thankyou Keithandtrud for your helpful ADVICE well appreciated. Double agent you are a ***** and go and ***** yourself. And 77 westy I think we all know that I was talking about the vacuum from the dizzy. I am not dizzy just write the basics so again to the pernickety people that made the unnecessary grammar comments get a life.
Thanks for the spelling advice, if I wanted an English lesson I would of asked for one. Thought this was a vw site were dubbers were relaxed and helpfully maybe being a double agent you think you are better than us mortal dubbers.
