I've just returned from the NEC Camper and Caravan show and WOW. 15 years since l last went to one and things have changed. Camping has become complicated. So many choices. So many layouts. So much equipment. It's not the simple little jolly we in our VW's take for granted anymore. And there are an array of toilet choices to be had too like enclosed private cubicles or poo'd with a view which seems quite common "MORNING NEIGHBOUR" My favourite had to be the Chausson 'Suite' Garage with electric lowered bed, central cooking island, fold out gas hob. Actually take a look at this: http://www.motorhomes-chausson.co.uk/gamme/profiles-lit-de-pavillon_sweet/ Further more our little VW's (inc the new Danbury's) are cheap in comparison to to these that start fromĀ£26,625 for a one birth based on the Fiat Nemo http://www.wheelhome.info/
Well yes a van will have a better comfort level but its the microwaves and ovens etc you don't need for a camping trip. Im just fitting our a T5 with a a sink hob combo' porta potti, cool box and a 19" TV for those rare wet summers we get. What more do you need
When we used to caravan upto 5yrs ago our van had everything, fixed double bed, full oven, central heating, shower cubicle, electric flush Kazi the whole sherbang. But it got boring, peeps didn't talk hence why we got shot and brought Kermit after a few years away from caravanning. The VW scene is far friendlier and so much more enjoyable we wouldn't go back to a caravan or even an upto date motorhome, talk about mega bucks.
