Following our t25 being written off by white van man just after i had spent 4 years getting it how we like it. We bought this. Paid to much but fell in love with it the engine was missing as it had been fitted with a WRX turbo using a hammer. I was then diagnosed with CFS/ME and had to give up work as a facilities manager we decided that the refit would be part of my program in getting better now 2years later its nearly done and i am back at work part time as a electrician doing domistic and camper electrics. On with the pictures, Had to do the still then started on the inside Mk 1 Mk2 to speed things up A bit of paint
Wow love the map roof and what is the shade of red i love it- What insulation have you used?? - the van is a real honey i would be very proud of my achievements if i was you -- Excellent job Dale
Thanks for t6he comments The maps are all places that mean things to us or places we have camped. the insulation i used was this a bit pricey but you get loads. http://www.screwfix.com/p/airtec-double-insulation-1-05-x-25m/21112
I very much like the maps on the ceiling trick! How are they holding up? Wondering if they'd bubble etc. over the winter lay up?
seeing this thread again reminded me our westy roof needs something doing with it - I'll have to get my thinking cap on! still think the maps on the roof is great
I like the silver insulation. Any issues with condensation etc. does it actually work ? Also, did you use any sound insulation materials ?
i used some flash band for sound deading you can see it 100mm silver strips i just stuck it on and heat it up with a hot air gun to bond it to the contours. No condensation issues apart from a bit on the windows defiantly made a difference The maps have held up i used spray glue than a few coats of mat varnish over it all
Thanks Matty. By flash band, do you mean the stuff used in buildings ? For roofing etc. ? I guess you took the approach of covering a % of the area as is normally recommended ?
this for the sound deading http://www.screwfix.com/p/evo-stik-flashband-75mm-x-3-75m-primer/20535 i used this in the pop top roof under the ply http://www.wickes.co.uk/invt/190545 the trim fabric http://www.megavanmats.com/liningcarpet.htm spray glue http://www.megavanmats.com/adhesives.htm Insulation http://www.screwfix.com/c/building-joinery/insulation/cat850294 I held the silver insulation on with duck tape and spray glue just to hold it in place until the trim cards where fitted.
