  1. Hi there just got my 1700 type4 engine running got a weber3236 carb was on my old 2 litre engine the engine needs to be timed up but it stinks of fuel and is lumpy it seems to be only running on 3 cylinders the engines not been run for about a year I have set the valve gaps and the rockers on no2 cylinder seemed to be stuck do u think this mite free it self after it has been run up and timed also do u think the fuel prob is because the carb was set up for a 2litre and now it's a 1700 any advice plz

  2. Carb needs rejecting, you're over fueling it
    :)

  3. If the rockers are stuck there is something wrong there too
    :)

  4. One of the rockers is ok it's the exhaust one that's a bit stiff but been told it's common for them to seize up if thengines not been run for a while

  5. not really sure it's common for anything to seize up in the rocker gear to be honest. you need to get it rejetted as joker said. then you'll need to set the gap and timing. how do you know the valve is stiff? how are you checking this?
if you've been ruinning over rich, there may be a carbon buildup but this wouldnt make the valve over tight unless the carbon has cause the valve to stick slightly open and maybe burned it. all guess work until you can get the mix set and get it timed.
