Engine for sale on ebay at the moment, not mine

Front tin and rear tin turnkey (if it runs) with heat exchangers, stainless exhaust, carb, distributor the lot

£500 start. If you need both bits of tin and an engine for maybe an imported van worth a bid I reckon !!

I think you should assume that it doesn't work, if it did surely he would have ran it up and confirmed that before removing?
