We are the proud owners of a very scruffy looking 1977 Arizona import bay - hopefully not so scruffy looking soon! Expecting a steep learning curve over the next few months! Have to admit to doing very little of the hard work ourselves though, we have handed our pride and joy over to the lads at Dub-Werks in Skelton. I might make some curtains. Look forward to meeting you all!
Welcome to the Funhouse. Get some pics up ^^^whs^^^ we love pics. I just got my first bay and after only 48 hours my list of things to do has trebled
Welcome to the forum. Richie and the lads at Dub-werks will take good care of her/him (have you named it yet?).
Right, I'm trying the picture thing ... I should be doing my tax return, but this is more interesting ... If that ends up as a load of codes and no photos, I'll have to get my husband to do it - he's better than me!
It worked. Do you know what kind of conversion it is ? Is it a Riviera of sorts ? I bet you're excited to get started working on it.
I think it's known as a Sportsmobile in the US, kind of like a Riviera but without the front bit. See ebay pic below: http://www.ebay.com/itm/1970-Volkswagen-Bus-Sportsmobile-Camper-Press-Kit-/350199243698?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_0&hash=item51898063b2 We've been lusting after a couple on The Samba, they're very cool Welcome to the site with your cool bus Garnet 8)
Welcome, fellow Sportsmobile owner. we have a '73. Ours has a flip out cooker, does yours? Our supports for the pop top are inside the canvas. Hope you get it campable very soon.
Yes, it is indeed a Sportsmobile. No cooker at all, and sink/cooler unit and rear storage locker rather damaged at some point in the past (and something VERY smelly spilt in one of the drawers). Don't know how much of the interior we will be able to salvage , but currently hoping to at least re-purpose some of the existing fittings. Pop top canvas sound though! Hopefully will have some kind of workable camper for next spring, if not complete. Very excited. No name yet, but definitely a "he" not a "she".
