Micro switch?

Any ideas, dunno if I'm being stupid or not but I've got a micro switch on the underside of my accelerator pedal?! What's this for? 1700 automatic.

 

Is it for the "kick down" on the auto transmission?

 

Yes it is. Does it work?

 

I dunno, have cleaned it up and put back together. Will stick a tester on it and check nearer the time. Can't help thinking this auto is gonna give me grief

 

Isn't it on the road? I wouldn't worry - they're great, but you do need to look after the ATF.

 

Cool, thanks Zed, just put three good coats of primer on it today. Looking great, gonna get paint this week. Hopefully be painted inside and out in two weeks. Looking for a pull switch for the auto gearstick! Any ideas?
