Had some trouble with mice getting into the cars this year - 2 living in the boot of my car and 3 in the engine bay of the work Navara, as I found out when a water hose exploded due to being chewed. All dead now (sorry animal lovers). Has anyone had problems with mice getting into their camper van engine bay? Seems to me that the nice sealing material around the engine tins would make perfect mouse bedding when chewed up and attract the little blighters to set up home there.
Nearly didn't get that Rick Our cat's part of the problem - she's getting old and less efficient at killing the local wildlife.
not the bus ,thou i was employed to get rid of (assumed) mice in a sealed roofspace , so i ,having run this past my employers 1st, assembled a scaffold like system , placed employers(houseowners) very fit speakers just 18inch from ceiling facing towards ceiling and played an AC/DC cd at max volume, it worked ,as in , goodbye rodents, they legged it.(or dropped down dead ?) apparently the (to us, )sound, to them is a vibration they take as a threat situation? dunno. but it did work , those rodents never to be heard scuttling about in that roof space again, and good money too! >>>did inform neighbours 1st ,thou.there are perhaps other music tracks that could be used re this method, methinks 18th twelve overture>bit of zep......
Dont know who or what put them there but our jacking points were full of beech nuts , and it wasnt me just so i could post in this thread
If a mouse dose chew your engine seal , it should be quite easy to identify , it,ll be the one with oil round its chops.
