FOR SALE Mellow Yellow '74

  1. Hey everyone!

We would like to introduce our refurbished 1974 RHD 1.6 Volkswagen Type 2 bus!

Custom refurbed in 2009 and a treasured family vehicle that we've taken on wonderful trips. We're selling due to a change in family circumstances and are looking for £20k ono.

The bus is right-hand drive, with Porsche Fuchs wheels. We had a brand new engine fitted as part of the refurb and then had power steering fitted in 2015. The camper has done 77k miles in total but only 5k miles with the new engine. It needs some TLC to be roadworthy - it has been SORN as of May 2022 as we weren't using it, however it does run.

The bodywork and interior have been well cared for and are in excellent condition. The exterior colour is 'mellow yellow' and the interior design is complementary orange, brown and yellow in retro '70s style. You can find a folder of images here and a few below.

It looks very much right hand drive to me! Aussie import?
Looks lovely. Good luck with the sale (when you get a price up!)

I had a quick look around the outside of this and it looks very straight to me. Looking from the front down the swage lines it’s one of the straightest I’ve seen. The door shut lines are all good. Without opening the doors I couldn’t see any body rust to speak of, just some very light surface rust on the front bumper.
I only noticed one small blemish on the bodywork on the driver’s side.
The Fuchs also look likely OE Porsch complete with OE caps.

It’s a nice honest close to original condition (bodywork) Aussie RHD bus with seemingly no hidden disasters that’s had Litesteer power steering fitted already and doesn’t appear to need anything doing to it and is ready to use.
It’s even had the windscreen wiper sweep corrected for RHD.
