Manifold takeoff for brake servo

Discussion in 'Mech Tech' started by snotty, Oct 26, 2015.

  1. 1/2"/13mm ID barbed fitting, preferably metric thread. Can anyone point me at one? I'm tired of the Internet.

    Ta.

That will be a large fitting indeed. 10mm would do it.

  3. You're right! I meant 10mm. I'm going to bed...

  4. I have plenty in stock.

  5. What size thread into the manifold?

  6. Pretty much any you like!
I seem to have loads of them, mainly in brass but also stainless, not sure why I have loads but I do.
Mainly 1/4 npt but I have Taps to go with them (for borrowing).

  7. M10 would be nice (as I have a tap). I'll bung you a pm.

Sadly it can't be m10 on the outside and have a 10mm hole down the middle. You still up?

  9. I'm up now. Mr Banana will do the business

  14. Would that I had TIGing kit. Looking at the manifold today to try to find a meaty bit. Thought "If I had some TIG kit, I could just build that up with some ally weld". Alas, I don't :(

  15. i`ll do it for postage costs

  16. Thanks for the offer Steve. I'll try Mr Banana's taps'n'barbs - if I mess it up, I'll be in touch ;)

  17. Right, Mr @Top Banana Racing to the rescue. I now have a nice 10mm barb for servo-ing :). Just got to Dremel the inside end of it flush tomorrow.

    Much appreciated!

On this subject, what diameter is the main vacuum pipe - front to back?

Reading this it seems 10mm is acceptable if that's what the manifold take off is, yet the connection to the servo is 13mm, can anyone clarify this??
