Heading to Malvern Any tips for great campsites or places to visit would be greatly appreciated We prefer quieter smaller campsites without loads of kids Thanks
Campsite at the Marlbank pub Welland - nor the Show ground where Busfest is held - good beer good food!
C&CC Hereford. Beside a fishing lake. Not too rule bound. Been there a couple of times when unable to camp nearer the Three Counties Showground at Malvern.
I have stayed at both of these sites and both are excellent. The Marlbank Inn had refurbished toilet and shower facilities a few years ago and the pub serves good food and beer and allows dogs in the bar. Facilities at Small Batch are more basic but still ok and there are 2 very good pubs within 5 minutes walk of the site.
http://www.browfarmcampsite.co.uk Great spot, short walk to brilliant pub V rustic site http://thebridgespub.co.uk http://www.botvylefarm.co.uk more of the same, walk a bit further with a bit of off road http://www.at-the-oak.com
@PIE Thanks so much for your post it sorted us right out! We tried to book in at small batch but they were full, so we rocked up at brow farm campsite -which we loved, plus we went to eat at the pub you recommended us. Just wanted to say thanks Only just back so will post a trip report at a later date (probably) Thanks to everyone who made recommendations and replied - great forum
No problem, if you cross the little bridge out of the campsite and turn right follow the brook I go fly fishing there, we met @72wilma and they made the best meal I have ever had camping, it would take some beating anywhere, with the trout and crayfish we caught, with the lobster flavour sauce that the just happened to have in their packed van!!
Sauce! Cheeky young man. That was lobster stock. We need to get back there don't we? I bet those crayfish traps are full.
We stayed at the Marlbank Inn a few years ago as I'd left too late to buy tickets for bus fest camping. I think it was when we saw you at the show @bryandsi and also helped @Beaver carry a big roof rack she'd bought. The camp site was nice and the pub did good food and nice beer. However, we cut short our stay by a night as both previous nights in the bar were a group of v loud opinionated locals who appeared to be friends of the owners. If you're in agreement that all immigrants are muslims, and all muslims are terrorists I guess it may not grate so much. Tho the volume they shared their thoughts at might still rile. A good outcome was that by cutting our stay by a night meant we left in time to go to Prescott Hill climb and onto a Cotswold pub camp site
