Malpassi fuel pressure regulator

  1. Bought one years ago for another vehicle but never fitted it.

Any point in fitting to my Bay, or just a gimmicky waste of time??

  2. Im no expert and although it does say regulator on the top ,it looks like a filter ( could be both ) and how do you know what pressure it works at ( is it adjustable )

They are very good, Under the domed nut is a screw you use this to change pressure

  4. That is correct the adjustment is the centre bolt.

    They are really good.

  5. Does the system really need to have the fuel pressure regulated? Surely there's only so much pressure that the pump can deliver, and the valve on the float chamber is designed to cope with it?

    Am I missing something here?

  6. what carbs are you running? If you have Dells or weber ICT's you need to limit the fuel pressure to 3 to 3.5 psi. My stock pump pushes out 5-6 psi. This was causing serious over fuelling. My filter king sorted all that out. and it is another filter before the carbs.

A tip i was given was if running icts just put a extra gasket on the fuel pump stand to lower the pressure

I never had a problem on my type 1 but I now run a standard carb

  12. I've seen 4.5psi (at least) out of my stock pump.
