    4. Don’t need a new sliding door seal, just turn your one around. Don’t even need to take the door off

Could do that, I'll see what condition the current seal is in :hattip:

    3M 08509 Windscreen Sealant

Seems okay, very tacky though I have yet to try it to see if it was a success.

I watched a pro do this job, so in case it's any help this is what he did.
He liberally sprayed glass cleaner (a high alcohol one like I had when I was a window man many years ago) all over the body and seal and repeated that throughout, keeping it running with the stuff.
Stuck his nozzle in and ran it round such that as he moved along it squished out,
More glass cleaner - keep it soaked, it's now also coating the oozing out sealer.
Top, sides. bottom done one at a time.
More glass cleaner - keep everything soaked.
    Carefully scraped up the excess.
There was none stuck on the paint or the seal.
I think you see the pattern.
For all I know he used glass cleaner because that's what he had and water might have been as good but the glass cleaner does evaporate so any getting in where it shouldn't perhaps not a problem that water would be.
Get your glass cleaner from a glass shop, not poundland, it'll be far better.

Cheers. I’ve used this Arbomast in the past but it’s not been fully successful and goes dry and powdery after a while

Time will tell with the 3M sealer, I'll keep tabs on it over the coming weeks.
