driving along tonight and main beam and dash lights all go out. Flashed my lights and they came back on. Any ideas what's going on, it happened 3 times.
umm the water does get in from the front window thanks lost-en-france. Do you know the best way to upgrade the head lights and the dash lights. . .
Take your relay out and give it a shake you might find its full of water if its a metal one you can open it clean it up and give a good spray of wd 40
You can open the plastic ones with care. The PO carefully left a plastic headlamp relay in a bag of spares in my bus. I opened it by carefully lifiting the outside over the lugs on the inner part of the relay .. Turned out that it had been sitting full of water and the rusty tide mark came up about half way up the case. And a critical bit of springy wire had rusted away.
Just put new H4 clear bulbs in and change the dashboard lights, they work just great and now I can see the road and my dials. Thanks for the help TLBers. I have a new thread on how do I fit a early devon roof.
Have you tried turning the headlight switch? It's also a dimmer for the dash lights. Those H4s make a big difference don't they.
Where did you get H4 bulbs from? I need some for mine, driving at night you might as not bother putting lights on. You got a linky

You've probably already got H4 bulbs, 99 out of 100 campers do, they're not a new invention. More likely your reflectors are dull.
Razzyh try these in your dash lights, I have just changed mine and these are great. .http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/281078219046?ssPageName=STRK:MEWNX:IT&_trksid=p3984.m1439.l2649 and then here is the link for headlights . .http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/130500452088?ssPageName=STRK:MEWNX:IT&_trksid=p3984.m1439.l2649
Thanks @vdub brvs dash lights I've got LED's and have no problem at all its the headlights that's a pita Thanks for link
Depending on the type of lamps you have check out my how to. If they're the type with separate lense/reflector bowl I used a can of 'chrome' paint and super white bulbs. Head lights are now better than the ones off my car and look like this Or if you're looking for cheap replacement try Holden's Vintage in Bromyard. I've been using their cheap Wipac lamps for the imports and they're great
Have you got a link to where you got the white lights from? I got some 'chrome' paint today. The bulbs halfords had, had the 3 prongs on the edge which meant it didn't want to fit. Infact I was glad to take them back, they cost £25 each, thankfully they we're buy one get one free. Wouldn't let me keep the free one though!!!
You have to make them fit The screw on piece with the spring isn't easy to fit on as they don't quite line up but it will fit. My bulbs were Bosch, buy 1 get 1 free. In halfords... The paint was chrome effect rust oleum in a spray can from bandq. It doesn't look chrome when it dries, actually quite flat but a big step up over regular silver paint. Its reflective though so does the trick. Remove the little tripod reflectors in the lights to get the full effect of the bulbs.
