i need to be in kingston upon thames by 9 30 in morning. looked at map and says 2 1/2 hrs not been before so is 2 1/2 realistic or should i allow 4 hrs? travelling from peterborough
^^^ this, M25 has to be done to get to my head office in Rochester Kent......double what they tell you - or go at silly o'clock and get a few hours kip in the car when you get closer....
it is a special occasion it's tuesday! i must get my bike out though, i'm doing that ride next week lol
Having been stuck on the M25 for up to 6 hours before I would say - if it's important leave a good 1-2hrs earlier than the sat nav says to. Sometimes you can be lucky - but I hate racing against time and if you get stuck there is nothing you can do other than watch the clock tick by. If you get to where you are going early you can relax and have a tea or a stroll.
I have to travel to London two or three times a week - can you take the train? If not - half term is your friend - but most people travel down the night before and stay in a hotel. The M25 and M1 south of Luton are hugely unpredictable.
If in doubt travel down the night before and stay over in a cheap hotel nearby. This way you can still have a drink the night before and have a lie in.
can't get down tonight so will be a morning drive. i'll leave at 6 and if i'm early i'm early cheers guys
I would suggest traveling in the bus would be the best thing. M25 and Kingston rush hour are a nightmare. With the bus you'd at least have a comfy lounge and hot drinks facility to aid the arduous task of London life.
