M25 Run The Ring

Discussion in 'Shows Events You've Missed unless you went' started by AndyC, Sep 7, 2016.

  1. They're mainly t4/5s.

  2. I think it would be an amazing sight if it was all T2's

Just imagine hundreds of AA and RAC trucks circling the M25 with Bays on the back

  3. I got a bit shouted down last week. Originally it was meant to be loads of van owners driving round the m25 which I thought might be a laugh. Several thousand people expressed an interest initially. But they changed it to registration only and you had to register a month before the event at the latest, so as no one seemed to register they opened it to all vw's, then progressively extended the latest signup date. I think they're struggling to get 400 vehicles now.
I asked if it was possible to just turn up on the day without registering and was told no and that I'd get the one fingered salute if I tried to join in without the sticker in my van.
To be fair to the organiser, he did try to deter any agro aimed at non-signupees, although he has become a bit messiah-like on there I think.

  4. What's he going to do, stop them driving on the M25?

  5. If he is messiah I guess he can do what he wants.

I know in the bible it says he will return. But I always thought it would be something a bit more spectacular than arranging a load of old vehicles to break down on a motorway.

The mg owners club did a similar thing a few years back, started at 2.00am to avoid the traffic.

    Tuesday wildchild I'm a circle!

We did many years ago on our own when we had a family event to go to in Kent so took a few days going around it and pulling off here and there to camp.

We know how to have a good time. :)

  18. apparently there has only been one complaint from someone who thought they were being held up by rusty Marmitee that should be in the scrap yard.

I have done it out of boredom once in a day. Going to a show at Excel from Southampton.
Out north side home south side.

And I ended up really bored . Except when my Peugeot 307 ran out of fuel with 1/3 of a tank on a fast left hander.. Turns out the fuel pickup is on a bit of springloaded plastic that had jammed a third of the way up the tank.

  20. I'm organising a similar event next year.
It's called ruin your ring. You have to eat as many phal curry's as possible , then drive your bus for as far as possible before you crap your pants, and sustain an irreversible anal fistula.
