Louvre windows - inner seals

Discussion in 'Mech Tech' started by yorkshirecampers, Aug 12, 2011.

  1. Does anyone know where I can source seals for the flaps on the louvre windows? Have been googling to little avail and JK and similar only seem to sell outer seals. I only have 1 left on mine, and the rattling is driving me crazy!

    Thanks

  2. hello - i am not sure what it actually is you are after?

is it the whole inner seal that goes around the metal window? or a seal on each flap ?

  3. Hi marowak - it's the seal on each flap- like a strip of rubber taped to the bottom of each flap to exclude draughts??

I have one hanging on for dear life that appears to have been there for years but nowt left on t'others.

Have trawled Halfords and the like but can't think what else to describe it as on google!

  4. hmmm - i have never heard of replacements. i'll have a look at mine in the morning and see what else you could use

  7. Try Volkswagen Heritage www.vwheritage.com
Their catalogue page 80 shows a Louvre Window seal kit.
i am led to believe it is a tedious job but hey, someone has to do it.
Let us know how you get on

    Cheers

  8. If it's a Devon window (2 rows of small slats), Status VW do a kit of transparent push-on seals.

  9. NLA & Alan Schofield both sell the INNER louvre trim/seal, which is not includes in the Westy louver seal kits from VWH/JK, etc. or evel sold by them singly.

  10. It looks like the 'u' shaped bit in the seal kit from Vw heritage, I need to do the same and not keen on forking out for 2x seal kits including a load of seals I don't need.

If you find where to get them can you let me know?!

    Thanks
    Ben
