Hi my louvre window in the slider has been screwed shut - i have removed the screws and it opens and closes if you push it but if you unwind the handle it doesnt open them. As if the mechanism isnt catching the bar and turning it. Anyone know how easy this is to repair? What parts i need? and where best to get them? Thanks.
Have you got the round handle? Sometimes if the thread on the screw has gone, the handle won't work. I'm not being condescending btw. It's happened to me :-
the knob is connected to the gearbox because i can see it turning round - it just seems to have sheered by the bar. Sounds like the gear has broken like you said.
