Lost keys

  1. Hi. I have lost my keys and now that the contents of every draw, surface tat, and fluff down the back of radiators are all back where they were, I have followed Ratwell's mighty fine instructions to remove the ignition lock barrel.

However, I don't have a key and can't turn the lock to the position he recommends and then use the 'key' (!) to remove it!

Is there a special knack I am missing?

  2. I don't recall you can do anything to the lock barrel without having the key in place :(

  3. desperate i know(from experience) pull the switch and "jump " the appropriate terminals ?

Why not get a replacement key instead of taking the ignition barrel out? The number is on all the other locks and they're all easier to get out to read said number. That's assuming you have a one key fits all van.

  5. Sadly, have (Had!) a load of different keys. However, ignition was the same as the sliding door. Could you tell me where the number is? I had the idea that the ignition barrel had extra wafers than the side door as well or am I being a numpty?
