Locking nut help

  1. I'm in the process of fitting a new exhaust, I had to replace a stud. The studs came with locking nuts...but what direction do they get fitted in? [​IMG]

    What they said.
    They're called Aerotite, they work in a similar way to Nylocs but won't fail under heat.

  5. Worth buying, IMHO, if you've got a friendly fastener supplier near you. I used loads on my van, in places where VW used the same.

  7. Thanks everyone that the way I was thinking but was told by a engineering family member that the they should be the other way around so the slots crush when tightening up to a face

    Lets hope the family member hasn't worked on any aeroplanes then.
