Leisure battery, which one?

  1. Hi, changing the leisure battery as it's dropping low on voltage, question is halfords are doing a 70amp one for £59 and it looks the right size however the 115 amp looks massive at £89.
So which battery would you go for/ have you got and where from? Just internal lights and 12v accessory plug for cool box at the moment.

  2. I've got a 110amp that I bought off fleabay. It's quite low. Can't remember the make I'll look later. It's housed in the left battery tray. I don't have a spare wheel well but it would fit underneath if I did.

I've got my interior light, 12v sockets, extra lighting, stereo plus my heated front screen running off it.

  4. Just get the cheapest normal lead acid battery you can get that will fit in the space. Its the best way i used scrap car ones on my boat and they lasted for years. We discussed this a lot and sterling the charger people recommend the cheapest largest battery you can get. They are not worth spending fortunes on.

  5. Ok, I take it the split charger will do the same thing with charging it up then? Might be a silly question, I dunno?

  6. Id imagine golf cart batteries would be good as they are constantly discharged and recharged on a daily basis

  8. Had a problem when I first got my van with the leisure battery, was as flat as a fart, saw the leisure batteries at Halfords on offer so thinking bigger is best and at that price, I bought the 115amp one.....so here's me driving home with a smug grin on my face thinking I've got a right deal but big mistake, got it home and it didn't fit..!! so had to take it back and swop it for the smaller one which fitted a treat. Note to self...bigger is not always best!!

  9. I suppose we all do it atleast once lol. I stood there thinking it will fit it will fit and if it doesn't I will fit it somewhere else haha.
I'm going to try the car battery route as I have a really good/ reliable spare battery.
Only running 12v led lights and a power supply off of it so it should be fine :)
