  1. noticed Few places doing Led Side lights, number plate, tail light/brake lights, has anybody tried em, are they brighter, any benefit, always thought Led Brighter, are they MoT ok. just a Sunday night ponder

  2. Answer is yes to all, I believe the only ones that can't be led are the headlights

  3. I have LED side lights, reverse and indicators. I bought some stop/tail lights off JK a few years back but they're one or the other. Perhaps that's changed now. The indicators have something inline (a suppressor???) I don't know what it is but stops them flashing too fast. Basically the front side lights give you a white light not yellow. Never had an MOT issue. If you want a number plate light using the standard holder you need the sort of LED which shines from the sides. Try eBay and get them from China, dirt cheap

  4. thanks, it was the front side lights and rear side /brake I was thinking of changing, cheers for your replys.

This from a bulb supplier: “LED replacement bulbs are not technically road legal. The reason being is that to achieve an E mark, the bulb has to be of the same type that it is replacing. E.G. incandescent for incandescent, LED for LED etc. In this case you are replacing incandescent for LED so therefore cannot be E marked. However the light output is fantastic so will pass an MOT as the intensity and colour is by far sufficient.”
