latebay rear boot area.. covering? insulation? help needed...

  1. hi all.

Slowly working my way round the inside of the van putting things right and have got to the rear boot area of our latebay van..

I was wondering if there is a product that can be used to cover over the large metal surface? maybe an insulation or sound deadening or a large fitted mat....

I was thinking this probably gets quite hot with the engine directly underneath so wasn't sure what to do.

wondered if anyone else has covered that area.or any if anyone had any ideas ?

    cheers for any help.

    Mike,

  2. Mine is covered in 6mm marine ply, with vinyl floor covering glued to it.

  3. Mine has the original fibreboard, like a doorcard...not exactly very good at any forms of insulation at all! It clips through the loadbay with doorcard trim clips.

    Mine has nothing. Works well.

  5. There are some great threads on insulation etc in the Camper Conversions section - oh that would be here lol.

I have sent off for a Silent Coat starter pack to have a looksy at it as will be doing mine over coming months.

  6. Cut a piece of left over carpet (hessian backed) to shape and the mattress goes over that when camping, never noticed and heat!
