Kitchen suggestions please

  1. Hi All,

    First post, new member...

OK. So we bought a Bay! It's a 73 part finished project with the non-vent front panel fitted and a pop-up roof. All the bodywork and chassis has been done pretty well (all steel) but needs finishing. The PO has part completed the interior by building in cupboards down the drivers side, a storage seat and (badly) fitted a R&R 3/4 bed. All needs sorting out properly (and some needs binning). However, the unit he has fitted along the driver's side is not bad and will be ok with a little extra work.

First thing I would like to do is fit the kitchen kit into it. I was thinking of the following:

Two or three burner hob with a hinged glass lid.
S/Steel sink with lid as above.
    Small electric and gas fridge.

As I am new to all of this, I would appreciate any help and advice. I don't have bottomless pockets but don't want to buy some tatty old caravan kit to fit in and make it look old and cheap. I don't mind second-hand or new as long as it looks half decent (EG Smev).

I was also considering a small microwave powered by an inverter (can you get 12v microwaves?) Any suggestions please?

    Thanks,
    Ian

    Hi Boggie, welcome to TLB.
Get the bodywork finished and painted first and see if you have any money left!
BTW there's no such thing as a non-vent front panel.

  3. As Zed has said sort the bodywork & paint first then get the bed fitted properly & then go camping, this way you can work out what furniture storage & cooking equipment you will need & do it as you go!

Welcome to TLB, post some pics as we like pics!

  4. Thanks guys.

There is a non-vent front panel on my van. See my signiture pic. The PO bought and fitted it himself. Not sure where he got it from though.....

  8. I've got a Smet sink and 2 ring cooker I bought but never fitted. It's cluttering up the garage at the moment.

Think it's a 9222 model, (with the key word there being think).

Bought it for about £275 as it comes with a micro tap as well. Happy to sell it for £250 posted if you are interested. Brand new, only out the box once to check on delivery.
