Kent VW Festival - An Utter Shambles

I had a lovely time in Wales

 

I had a lovely time in Kent with some great people too

 

We had already been out and were trying to get back IN. We did climb over the fence in the end but that doesnt excuse the attitude, would it hurt to walk a few metres and unlock the fence once they realised it was us who they saw left on foot and who they just told would be able to get in. No it wouldnt. Did they? No they choose to walk off and leave us there.
I at least expect to be able to use a toilet and get at least a couple of hours sleep for my money. I have no problem with a portaloo as long as there is some!
As I have said twice now, it is not the issues themselves but how we were spoken to on all occasions. Being rushed off your feet isn't an excuse to be extremely rude to people.
I am entitled to air my views and state the FACTS of what we experienced. If you had a good time then good for you. Sadly we didn't all experience that.

 

yOu are airing them , and im airing mine , if i didnt everyone wouldnt get a real picture of what you stated was an "utter shambles" would they ??? "We had a bad experience what about you might have been fairer"?? Can you answer one thing why did you go ?? I dont know one show that is quiet n peaceful ? i take ear plugs for noisy neighbours , they cant please all of the people all of the time . well not for £20 anyway .

 

I have no problem in people airing different views, I have no problem in people saying that they went and had a great time, however your responses were about me not painting a fair picture and were we at the same show and also picking at bits of my post you believe are untrue is implying that I am exaggerating our experience which I am not.
I went to enjoy a vw show, as I have for many other shows, I expect loud music late however we were near a very large group who when the show entertainment stopped returned and put thier own music on full blast from 3am and it was still going at 7am. I had earplugs but they did nothing with that noise. The shows own rules said to respect others camping and to keep noise down after 12. So someone should have been monitoring it. It was not on in the background, it was blaring full blast all night long.

 

Not disgruntled Barney, disappointed maybe but its the luck of the draw, who's to say that the dubbers would have bought anything from the finest vintage store in the South East of England. Regardless of the till not ringing I still had a good time chewing the fat and avin' a larf with folks. As for those bloody trike riding greebos behind me tooting their horns and playing loud music, well, I had my alcohol earplugs in , never heard a thing. I will stand by my opinion of Dee though, having had countless emails and messages from him in the past my feelings wont change.It was a needle match between both parties without a doubt but hey ho , carp happens.

Nick if only you knew im sure you and others wouldnt be so hard on that bloke. When i saw what they had pulled off with what they had to deal with, most would have walked away , he was loyal to everyone and most of all Help the Heroes . I would have said where i was going on your whos going where thread but their was too much back stabbing going on from day one , all i can say is stick with me bud . That wasnt an all ticket show, so how the hell would anyone know how many would be pooing n looing god only knows and that the whole of the caravan club was going to turn up ps it was my collectomainier that you missed .

I have done , shame well next year I will be there ! I like volunteering for my work but sometimes I just wish you hadn't and would have been much better off coming along with you guys!

 

"An Utter Shambles"!!!! We must have been at a different show. The Kent VW Festival we went to was great. Had a very nice relaxing weekend with good company. Did not se anybody struggling with the conditions at all and the loos were some of the best we have seen at a festival. There was already an acceptable number and they came along and put another 12 nearby. We were also treated to a Spitfire flying around the area for the duration of the show and glorious sunny weather.

Im not taking any sides as i wasent there to comment
I do appreciate someone has taken the time to explain why they had a bad time

Ive never seen barney this irate before and i thank him for his input about his time and a bit of background about the show

As someone that experianced camperjam 2012 in a tent with family in tow i can fully understand

Jaspervan dude the music/noise all night happens at a lot of dub shows even in family camping areas
Im not saying its right more somthing that comes along with the show scene

 

They are too expensive and too far away for me nowadays
When the paravans finished i think ill hop from steam gathering to real ale festival round the dales
Then do some solo wild camping in the lakes and scotland through the winter months
