what do you think of these wheels they are going on a 79 panel van what size rubber would i use im thinking of going for a weedeater beam aswell

 

I think they'd look nice on a car, but not an old bus. You did ask.

i quite like them. but agreed they would have to be on a lowered bus.

if a bus is stock height.. anything but standard steelies is weird to me. dont know why, just looks "not right"

 

Skinny front and big chunky rear would look great but....where can you get skinny commercial tyres that take the load? There's lots of threads on here about non-commercial tyres not being accetable to insurance companies if anything goes wrong and our vehicles were built with commercial tyres in mind. I know it will look great but not sure its worth the risk - these are 15" so 195x70's 6 or 8 ply commercial, I understand, are the way to go...

 

There is far greater size choice for 15" commercially rated tyres than 14".
14" wheels are generally found on small cars nowadays and tyre availability reflects this.

Does anyone have 14" alloy wheels with standard van tyres on a standard height bus? I'd like to see what that looks like.

 

Well, they are not on anymore, but this is what we had before. They are original porsche fuchs 14" with load rated van tyres, although without the original caps!

 

Blimey that was quick! At that height it ooks so much better to me than 15" with lower profile tyres. Usually at full height they look silly, but that looks ok.

Nice bus, it could be new!

 

I think I just like fat tyres and scrotty wheels...
