Just had the boys in blue round

Just out on the drive tonight cleaning the van and I heard a Crack and something whizz past my ear, I turned round to look where I thought the noise came from and saw two heads looking over a fence a few houses away behind ours, they made no attempt to hide and then there was another shot, not sure what it hit but it was close, I went round and saw them drive their car off the drive then reverse it back again - when I challenged them they reckon they'd only just arrived home, gave me a load of lip...
I Called the cavalry and they went round, the lads weren't there surprise surprise but their dad just came home so they had a word with him..
I don't have a problem with lads with air rifles, I think we've all had a dabble in the past but the little scroats were blatantly aiming at me...
I'm now preparing myself for the backlash..

 

Did the cops not enter the house and seize the weapons? You've accused them of a very serious offence. I would expect no less than an armed response and a house search and any air rifles seized.

No, they seemed very keen on knowing if I'd seen the gun (I hadn't) if I had I reckon they'd have gone in.

I think we were 99% it was an air rifle , not that should make that much difference, pretty certain by the noise it made that it would have caused some
damage if it had hit me.

 

have look see if you can find a pellet or pellet mark when its light , do you know them ?

 

Airgun will kill you as easily as any other gun it it gets you in the right/wrong place.
Id be back on the phone to the cops and getting a proper job done.
On the plus side they can't be very good shots.

 

in ni air rifles are on licence same as a shot gun ,so a gun in public with no licence is a section 5 under the fire arms act automatic 5 years

 

Look for little yellow plastic ball bearings. It might have just been a soft shot gun but maybe not by the way you described the noise. Air gun pellets are pretty distinctive. Especially when they whizz past your head!

Why are you involving children in this ?

 

I got told off as a child for shooting at a plastic pelican around at a mates house, well really for the holes in the fence and the fact the neighbour was the otherside.

When i was a kid i shot at a pidgeon blindly with a bow and arrow. Scwered it ,lucky shot ..I was mortified..
I never killed another thing in my life ...

 

The next door neighbours had an outdoor train set in the garden, I use to shoot my air gun at it well into my 20's still, they called the cops a few times

 

If the 'Criminal Minds' team has profiled you they might conclude that there is a direct correlation in crimes against steam/diesel electric based toys and your penchant for knitted head ware.

I'm not sure, I've seen a chip in the front panel today that I'm pretty certain wasnt there when I waxed that bit last night, no dent in the metal though so maybe it was just a plastic pellet... Go knows
