Recently had a post deleted as I changed an "i" to a "1" , so I could write the four letter letter poo word.
Then I see in LOTS of posts words including Illegitimate child and prick,.....

 

Curious? Or Bi-curious?

There's no Facebook category for "Just Curious", I'm afraid.

 

The swear filter would normally have taken that word out. You are not supposed to change words to get around it. Not all words that might be considered 'rude' are filtered but those that are should not be bypassed.

 

So if Illegitimate child and prick aren't in the swear filter, its OK to type them?

If you feel that you need to. I wouldn't moderate them unless you were aiming them at another member. The swear filter is designed to remove some offensive words. Whilst the s-word is pretty mild it still is one of the filtered words.

 

It's just that this chrysanthemum swear filter actually kale radicchio my brain so that watercress tomato pumpkin the lemongrass.

The s-word used to get changed to 'marmite' . I used to actually type m-a-r-m-i-t-e after a while.

 

I don't want to type stuff like that! Just seems a bit back to front!

In my world Marmite is rude but nowhere near as rude as Illegitimate child or prick!

 

The P word was me, and I expected to see changed. In fact I deliberately wrote it as I was curious to see what it would be changed to. Having said that, I suppose I could have edited it, but it seems pointless now.

 

We rely on self censoring to a large extent, and I think that works pretty well.
