I asked the same question and i hear they are not load rated.. so will work but not ideal for actually driving on. i think...
Depends on your view of load ratings. The commercial rated tyres originally fitted to bays have a 102 rating.
Ooh! Bearing in mind, most have normal car tyres on there lowered buses or alloys don't suppose it'll matter that much but will have another look round, cheers
I think those are the ones I parted company with recently. They work but are too soft really for a heavy conversion. My Westy poptop handles way better on 102 rated van tyres. Not as pretty but they work better
Well done for choosing function and safety over looks Higher rated tyres have stronger side walls and this helps stop that swaying about at speed people experiance
Get mr white walls to come paint your tyres , I'm sure he has a web site or someone on here has a link
Have you tried Karmann Konnection ? Not a recommendation as I do not know anything about the tyres myself other than I have seen them advertise white walls in the mags.
mmnnnn theres a thought, just need four tyres at the moment for mot and thought if i got the right ones first time it may save some cash. Thanks
I spoke to Mr Whitewall and you need to put circa 3000 miles on your tyres before he recommends painting them as oils in the rubber leech through if they are too new. He did say that he does part worn van tyres that he had white-walled for sensible money, but I had already bought my new set. I guess I will see him in about October then to get mine done.
My thoughts too, though he also probably doesn't want people coming back saying "ere look at the way the white has discoloured" and causing bother
True you could do it yourself with some white paint lol just jack the van up and spin the wheels and put a brush on the tyres
With a maximum rating of 35psi I would think that those tyres would give a bit of a soggy ride as rears, given that 47psi is recommended for the stock tyre on a T2 bus
