Discussion in 'Show Us Your Ride' started by Neil D, Apr 1, 2012.

  1. Hi, my names Neil im 23 and from Fareham. Ive owned 'Jessie' since September 2010.

When i bought her the bodywork had under gone a full restoration but i wanted to re do the interior.
Outside ive made a few subtle changes like a chrome front badge, clear indicator lenses, new minilite wheels and obligatory stickers. Heres some pictures anyway!

Inside i completely ripped out not long after buying. I then fitted new flooring, bought new professionally made panels and trimmed everywhere above the panels in hessian. I then fitted a rustylee r'n'r bed and cut down the old foam I had. Ive also fitted a 12v split charge system and currently instally a 240v hook up system. I then made a new cooker unit and buddy seat from 15mm ply with oak formica and solid ash edging (sprayed with a tint to match). Im currentky making a new overhead locker and side unit to match. Up front ive replaced saab seats with originals although these need to be re-covered when funds allow so they match!

Since owning the bus we've had a few weekends away and last year we took it down to Cornwall for a week. Its never let me down and is my pride and joy! Hopefully it will be finished this year!

  6. Welcome to our happy site Neil :) :)
A great looking van you have there. Where did you get your cab door cards if you don't mind me asking?

  7. Thanks for the comments!

Bryandsi- yes the front mats were bought from madmatz, they're excellent quality!

72wilma- the door cards were bought off eBay, seller was trimjim iirc? I bought panels for the whole can off him.

  8. cheers Neil :)

  9. Just looked in my feedback it was trimjim1972, can't remember if you can search by seller??

  10. The van is going in for some work next week, getting an electric washer pump fitted and a few running issues fixed. Also buying some new foam and seat covers for the r'n'r bed. Went to the jk open day as well, camped on the Friday but left last night :( Here's a quick pic anyway alongside my dads t5 from yesterday

Also started building my new interior unit that will run beside the bed and back over the engine. This is the rear section, will be a large storage locker for clothes etc. I've also mounted the 240v socket in it, currently have the back box fitted, and a 12v output will be fitted too.

  14. really nice bus you have there

  15. Done a bit more on the interior today, mounted the socket, just need the 12v port. Also got the top done but needs to be edged tomorrow, then the flap should be good to go on! Slats are yet to be secured to the base, will probably get done once it's in the van :)

The corner block also needs to be rounded yet!

  17. Looking great

  18. Got the bus back from the garage today! its running brilliantly now :D

So once it was home i put my new cushions in and trial fitted the interior before i do the final scribing on the top and unit base! Really happy with how its looking, just got to crack on with the next part of the unit. Which will go alongside the seat and be at the height of the line drawn on the rear unit. Hopefully better pics over the weekend!
