It's our anniversary so I'm taking the missus to look at a beetle

  1. Today is our forth wedding anniversary, to be different we are going to chill factor to slide down the luge on a small plastic mat - hopefully we won't die lol

Before that though we are off to look at a beetle, it's a GT beetle that our mate has had for a few years. As a VW hoarder he has a fair few vehicles and is trying to concentrate on just one or two. Trouble is I know it will be a big job and I don't know if I'm up to it, for starters it needs a fair bit of welding and then the engine will need rebuilding. Is it beyond me? I've no experience but really want to give it a go. On the plus side I have had approval to rebuild the engine at the bottom of the lounge lol

  8. Gt bugs are the best especially if it still has original gear box in. Which of the three gt colours is it/ should it be? Mines tomato red ( orange to the untrained eye) :p

  10. It's an apple green one, it does need a lot of work but as they are so rare I see it as an investment and a looooonnnnngggggg term project lol

  11. Ooh, love the apple green. Mines due a resto but still goes like stink for a bug and is my daily driver still. I love gts.

  12. go for it. when I started my project I had no previous experience of welding or anything. 7 months in now and i feel pretty competent at most things. check my resto to see what can be done, even if you know nothing. :D
