Italian side indicators???

Discussion in 'Mech Tech' started by Imgolfman, Apr 27, 2012.

  1. Hi all. Since having my bus painted, I can't get my indicators to work and I think its down to my side ones. The light on the dash just stays green and no bulbs light up???? Does anyone have a pic of the set up of the side indicators? Maybe I'm missing something???

  2. Usually an indication of a duff flasher relay, or possibly a bad earth or short.
See if the 12v wire on the side repeater is grounded with a multi-meter or change the relay

Ahh you have the little jobbies on the b posts too then, Gusbus our '73 has them!!

As stevem says, check the relay - the little indicator unit itself only has one wire feeding from the main front indicators, up the windscreen piller, across the roof and down, the other part of the metal base makes the earth up. Could it be that some of the wiring is damaged causing the problem

  4. Just jogged my memory this has lol

Mark ill post you them repeaters once ive finished moving house

Dude give your relay a tap on the side with the handle of a screwdriver to see if you can kick the relay into life

If it aint the relay then id imagine its a poor contact or wiring breaking down

The side repeating indicators on italian and dutch busses has a live feed through a black wire that terminates in a brass fitting and earths through the bodywork

Ive welded mine up as i couldent find any repros to fit

I wish someone would do repros of them as they are a usefull addition in my opinion

    I thought they were smaller; 2BA001-227-211 are 82 x 40 x 42mm

  15. Well mine look nothing like either of these 2 parts,

They're definately Hella, but there's no part numbers on them

    In Ideas??

    Cheers

I guess one possibility is that they got removed due to damage and replaced with an alternative part or Hella redesigned them and updated the part number?
Due to the rarity of the originals it understandable!

  17. It was my relay what was buggered. £5 later and were sorted 😄

  18. The earlybay had the small style indicators right under the belt line.

You may find the early style at German Ebay under Zusatzblinkleuchte.

The latebay style can be seen at Microfiche 100-00 part# 5 which is a totally different style.

Not sure though at which height those indicators were installed.

Any of you guys have a photo of this unit installed?

I have tried different positions before I make the installation.

I don't really want to drill the pillar before i am 100% positive of the exact height
