Is this the world’s best tomato?

  1. I found a tiny tomato plant growing in my flower bed two years ago. So rescued it, shoved it absent-mindedly in a spare pot, and left it outside on the terrace.
It rewarded me by producing spray after spray of mini plum tomatoes which had thin skins and the best flavour ever.
So I saved some seeds... and this year the four plants are even more astonishing. 89DE41E4-1631-43E6-AC4E-5DC19267C003.jpeg Started producing months ago and I picked the last ones yesterday. November! These are the pictures.
They’re not in a greenhouse, I didn’t feed or prune them and they’re just in plant pots, not grow bags.
If anyone wants some seeds next year, let me know!

  2. I grow tomatoes and find the mini ones are the best as they are smaller and ripen well outdoors and they are tastier than the big varieties. Cut them in half, spread them on a baking tray with a little cooking oil and roast.

  3. Then preserve them in basil-flavoured olive oil - to have some sunshine on toast in winter!

  4. I make concentrated tomato sauce for pasta etc with ours and put in one of the ice containers and freeze into cubes ,then add to sauces when making , use as many as needed int winter

  6. My dad used to take himself off and sit in his greenhouse munching away on the copious amounts of tomatoes he grew there:)

  7. My dad told some green fingered know it all to put salt around the roots to make them ready salted!. He came back and said to my dad 'my plants have wilted'! Never mind my dad said you can have some of mine for free, they are all ok and I don't take salt by the way!!! Can still remember his grin.
