My speedometer is a little jumpy between 1-20 MPH. Is this a sign that I need to do something before it completely farts out? Do I need to replace my speedometer cable? Should I try to pull the speedo cable out of it's plastic sleeve and coat it with graphite? My dad fixed a jumpy speedo that way.
A bit of lube on the cable inside the guid tube is certainly a good idea ! mine used to jump about and a new cable sorted it ! just check the small clip on the end of the cable ( wheel end ) hasnt come off ! . Ended up having a new speedo as my old one used to read 90mph when i was doing about 50mph : . But the new cable certainly stopped it jumping ! cheap and easy to try first
