i noticed yesterday when splitting the crankcase on my old knackered engine that there is a tiny spring in the center of the distributor drive bit.. (down the hole you put the distibutor in..) now im pretty certain when i put the dizzy in my new engine, that spring isnt there.. could that spring being missing cause problems?
Yes. Without it the drive can jump about a bit and if there's up/down play it the distributor (pull on the rotor arm) that'll jump about as well.
thanks zed! i will be fixing that problem asap then! is it a case of just taking the spring out of the other one, and sticking it in the new one, or is it more complicated?
