Hi Pete here i used to own O'Connors Campers (have just sold it) and still own O'Connors Roofs. Just to let you guys know i am now concentrating 100% on elevating roofs. I am going to be re-producing the Viking super-six, updated and sleeker than the original but still able to sleep four in the roof. I am also making a new version of the Canterbury Pitt straight lift roof for splits (Sorry) that will have either two hammocks or a fold-out bed. We are also starting to manufacture all the canvases, Westy, Devon, Viking, Dormobile etc etc. Just saying hi really and introducing myself. If you have any questions or problems about elevating roofs i will do my best to answer them. You can reach me on here or at vwcampervanroofs.co.uk. Regards Pete
Hello Pete, had a holiday in wolverine last year, you came out and fitted a starter button at Bay view campsite Near looe. We were hooked and bought a 73 tintop just weeks afterwards. Good luck with the roofs we may need one yet. Alistair
hi pete, what price for the canvas for a late westy? is it easy to fit myself? mine is holey and ducttape makes it stay together....just.
Hello Pete, I was wondering if there was some kind of gearing to make a sunroof into a poptop but using the sunroof panel as the the cap? and kepping all the gearing within the sunroof channels (ok maybe encroching on the inside a little bit) but leaving the outside looking like a sunroof bay? No small challenge oh and Welcome.
Hello and welcome pete I have a westfalia style roof on my bus that no one has seen before and is a little lacking in space up the top I was wondering if you could supply westy hinges canvas and the top bed to fit onto my present roof?
welcome along mate. .....do you do discounts for latebay members ;D .......comon, you were all wondering it, but afraid to ask ;D
Hi Yorkshirecampers, did the hire for eight years and ended up with fifteen vans, five splits, ten bays they took a lot of work to keep on the road I just got weary i suppose. Also the roofs side of the business was getting bigger and bigger and needed more of my time so a choice had to be made. The roofs won. To paradox, your roof is an early Danbury by the looks of it. Is it hinged straight onto the rear roof of the van? Yes i can supply hinges and gas struts and canvas for the roof. I'm pretty sure everything would fit but would be best to measure the length and width of your canvas. To Diddymen yes i would give discount to latebay members. To Harryankle. Yes i remember you you ran a camping shop i think? Glad Wolverine had a part to play in your getting a van. To Martin Dory How's the book coming on? If you need a writing partner I'd be interested. MA in English/creative writing. To Majorhangover it could be done but you'd be looking at a looooooot of money. Best way would be to remove original panel and rplace with lightweight fibreglass one with lightweight canopy. Winding mechanism would then have to be reversed so it pushed instead of pulled to raise rear or front of fibreglass panel. To Pmacs49 I still own a couple of bays a 71 cross-over and a 76 panel van unfortunately both are sold once they are finished. But when they are done i'm going to get something just for me. Don't know what yet but something will turn up. To Baydreams see you in Feb.
Hi Pete, yes that me give me a shout if you need anything And yes Wolverine played a huge part totally convincing the family that we should buy. Thanks Alistair
