Introducing Brian

Discussion in 'Introduce Yourselves' started by BriantheBus, May 15, 2013.

  1. Hi,

We've had Brian since August 2012 and can't imagine being without him. He's a 1972 crossover bay, and is slowly being sorted out. He tends to display one job at a time, which is helpful as it spreads the cost! We've got a good working knowledge of what we can do ourselves and an excellent (and reasonable) local garage for when we can't.

We're looking at replacing his interior at the moment as being on the short side I'm finding the Danbury rock and roll bed a little on the high side.

His next big job is next week, when he's having a new bellows, struts, lifting arms and anything else that needs doing!

His next small job is us attempting to replace the wiper arms as one of the springs went on the way home the other day. Any help on that one would be great as so far they are resistant to our gentle persuasion!

Welcome along, might as well get it in early, any pictures?

  6. And that's why he's called Brian! He has a long back story lol, but like my boy says "Always look on the bright side of life!" so he was named after the Monty Python Brian. (Which probably means I'm a shockingly bad parent as my boy was only 8 and could quote lots of the Life of Brian, as well as lots of Red Dwarf!)

There are lots of pictures on his blog "lifeofbrianvw.blogspot.co.uk" but I'll dig some up to put on here! He is gorgeous, and he makes my son smile, and that is worth every skinned knuckle!

  11. hiya, yup removing a wiper arm is Satan"s own work , I use a "Snap-On " battery terminal removal tool, pricey to buy tool I agree (cost £30 when I noticed some years ago that it had a.n.other use) ,thou spread over say ten years ownership and several removals(safely)its worked for me.(with added fun of impressing your mates with same).some tools you just got to have !
