Cut out back to good metal. Buy seatbelt bolt backing plates . Weld in new patch.
On mine it ended up about 1/3 of the entire tub..

You did not want to start poking...

I can’t weld never tried so this should be interesting.
The seat belt mount looks ok it’s solid just a rusty bolt that must of snapped off in a previous life. I will of course check this.

I need to cut the floor in the corner get some floor weld it it

What do people do with the large amount of tiny holes. Old screw holes
Some bunged with bolts some with screws and some with rubber bungs!

    Thanks!!!!

For all the little holes, weld them up and grind flat.

I bought a Sealey Mighty Mig 190 from Drayton Welding in Sleaford and use Hobbyweld for my gas. Great welder. The machine, not me!

    What about might mig 150.
Probably only use it in this and maybe a spitfire.
Then the other toy I have is fibre glass I can do that blindfolded

  14. Looks like someone has riveted a plate on at the bottom of the bulkhead here as well.

I think the work required is going to grow from what you can initially see.

Why not bring it to techenders and sleep on the floor or in a tent.
We then could look over it for you and advise what needs doing and the best way to progress.
Welders may seem expensive to buy at first but when you consider getting someone else to do the work will be a min of £60 an hour it soon adds up.

  15. That seatbelt mount isn’t safe I’m afraid
There’s a good chance that would pull through in the event of a collision.

Keep an eye on Gumtree. I got our welding unit for £80 off it. Did all the welding on our bus with that so probably paid for itself in the first 2hrs of use.
