Hello all, Me and the wife have spent all evening trying to plan what the interior layout should be as we currently have a completely blank canvas with no interior at all. we are going to custom build units etc but need some inspiration. If you have any interior shots of custom interiors / furniture etc we would love to to see them! Cheers
I'm not being elitist here but look at the general layout of the Westfalia Berlin. I've looked at many interiors and I cannot find any that are more suited to my needs. The Devon Moonraker is a second close but in "sofa mode" you can't really nap. The Berlin allows you to put pillows on the unit and take a nap as if it was a full width. Also the Berlin has super sized units over the Moonraker.
The main thing I tell customers is map out what sort of camping your going to be doing, as if your only going to do weekend trips you'll need less storage if your doing a euro trip. Also think about awning use. It's ok building an interior that looks the bees knee's if you don't use half of it!
Look at the stuff you'll be packing in then design around that so it can have its own space and not just kicking about.
Another thing very much over looked "pipping" AVOID having your seat/rock n roll bed cushions pipped. Looks great in sofa mode but try sleeping on ridges of misery.
Hi, you say you are going to custom make your interior, how handy are you? Interiors can be as simple as an Ikea unit made to fit or a bespoke set up designed around your pre existing components. Check out this thread I started when thinking about mine: http://thelatebay.com/index.php?threads/show-us-your-diy-interiors.20346/
Thanks Woolly that's just he sort of thing I was looking for. I want to go for something similar to Majorhangover's interior minus the swing out cooker. That's the sort of custom photos I was looking for to get inspiration from. Anybody know of any others like it?
Allthingstimber.com Lots to inspire you there. There maybe a pic on my profile page of mine, it was cheap, simple and works well for a family of four and as a space for trips to the tip etc.. As I went for nothing behind the passenger seat. All from b&q.
Overly sensitive derriere Birdy? As for interior idea have a look through the resto threads, they'll be loads of good ideas in there
Ok, found what I am looking for. Took inspiration from the yanks - I reckon if I get rid of the coffee table the rest will fit.
