Hi there I am presently finishing off my late bay bus.. wondering whether I should leave as a bus ( having a total original camper dormobile already ) or giving it a custom / personal twist interior. Roof is still tin top and will leave it as it is. Any ideas please ? I also would like to move off the original head liner and am planning plywood covered with some retro Beatles posters or some comics..already gor some particular door cars for it. Cheers !
this is always a tough one, I personally feel obliged to keep as much original even though my bus looks original but in fact is technically custom, with a Devon remake interior and a Mercedes green body, mine is far from original, but it's your bus. On one hand you could argue that not many of them are kept original any more so original would be good, but at the same time, you want to put your own personal twist on it, because, why shouldn't you? its your bus! Its a tough one, but the more I think about it, the more I want to go down the custom route, making it work for me and my families needs and wants, its our bus for the time we are lucky enough to have it so make it what suits you. if you sell it on, the new owner can always take it back to original, especially if you replace the parts you change with different ones, means you can always go back to stock should you change your mind later on..... im sure this has not helped one iot but felt like putting my 2p in lol, good luck!, I like those covers by the way! if my interior was original id want to keep it that way but otherwise id go for my own designs ( love the beatles roof idea or old comic approach) i have no headlining and no template so no sure waht to do yet. either way best of luck and go with what you wud like in the end
