I think people have had better results with contact adhesive. You put it on both surfaces let it nearly dry and then position the seal. I’m pretty certain that’s what I did on one of my T25’s!

I used evo stick too the one you brush on, I think the aerosol type is pants.
I brushed it on both sides and left it until it was dry to touch then positioned the seal. Can’t say I had any issues with it afterwards!

  6. Hello,

I use since decades from German "Henkel" company the "Pattex Classic" (yellow, strong odor, comes in tubes and cans - I have both),
sold from Henkel also by other sub-companies as "Teroson" to automotive industry. So I found similar used at my classic cars from Mercedes or VW.

It is also after decades like rubber and holds my seals also after strong wintertimes or visits of desserts as Sahara or Dascht-e Lut.

    regards,

The spray stuff is for sheet material.
Also your paint may be too shiny or contaminated with silicone polish or oil.
Use contact glue in a tube, make sure the paint area is degreased.

Also polyurethane glue - something like Sikaflex or Tiger Seal will work but the paint will come off with the seal if you ever remove it .

Red stuff is pants. They've taken all the nasty, but effective, solvents out.

Try the green. According to the tin it kills fish, so must be better . And don't just degrease the paint surface, lightly key it with wet n dry or similar..

  9. I think I used aldi gorilla glue on mine and used clothes pegs on the corners until it set. Those seals are formed the wrong way for me. Their natural state is to stand up rather than lie down in the channel.
Your firewall is shining better than my bodywork btw
