Inner B Post to Sill Fit

Discussion in 'Restorations' started by motorcycleemptyness, Aug 11, 2013.

  1. Looking at my pictures below , does the fit of the inner B Post to the sill look correct ?

Also , Does the outer sill fit between the inner B Post and the C post ?

My outer sill looks to be about 10 mm too long ??

I know i need to cut the door seal channel that i made back a bit

    Any ideas ?

  2. Your outer sill needs to go towards your b post by 10mm, cut the other stuff out the way

  3. cut the right hand edge off of the inner B Post ?

  4. Pretty much, im not sure why its even on there, it was just in the way on mine, i ended up making my own bit and not even using the jk panel.

Ill get you a pic of mine tomorrow.
But basically the b post and sill have to sit right next to each other.

  5. Actually look on my resto thread, page 4. 6th pic from the bottom.

And before you weld on the outer sill, youll need to cut about 1cm square out of the top right and left corners so theres a continuous run for the sliding door seal.

  6. Cheers , thanks for your help .Look forward to more pics (always helpfull) I kind of expect parts to fit together without the need for modification !!

  7. No prob.
Lol, ive needed to modify 9/10 of my panels. Just the way it is. Unless theyre genuine vw. Klokkenholm seem to be the worst culprit for me :(.
