Inner ' B ' Post and outer ' B ' Post Alignment Question

Anyone have any ideas on how the inner and outer 'B' post repair panels fit together ?

If you look at the 5th picture up from here , the one of the sliding door side with the three clamps in it , the channel that the upper two clamps are in , is that a separate repair panel ? looks like a ' U ' section piece ?

 

I managed to save that
