WANTED inner axle bearings part no 211401321a Please help

Discussion in 'Late Bay Parts Classifieds' started by Airbud, Jan 9, 2014.

  1. My van just failed it's mot for too much play in the steering and when I took it in to the garage they told me I needed these bearings which they can't source. At first they thought it was just the ball joints but as it happens they are ok. They said the alternative is a whole new front end looking at basically 1000 pounds!!!!

If anyone has any ideas about where I could get these please help. I can't afford a whole new front end.

    Thank you so much.

It isn't going to cost much to import those I wouldn't think.
Worth phoning the usual suspects first though.

I'll see yor £900 and come in at £850

  14. Too much play in the steering could be anything ,I would have thought its very difficult to check these bearings plus they don't have any input in the steering only suspension .

  15. Looks like it might be more than £950 then lol:chewie:

What he said. Jack's garage replaced a gearbox for one of my customers when it was a CV joint that needed replacing.

  18. Thanks for all the replies.

Stevebay, I believe the part you spotted at vw heritage is for the outer bearing where the one i'm after is the inner bearing. I called vw heritage and they couldn't find that part I needed. Also, I'd be concerned about getting this bearing second hand because I couldn't know how worn it is already.

For now i'm definitely not going to replace my front end. Thanks for the offers though and if it ever comes to it I will look here first before going to any garage. I have decided to just import the bearings from the US as they said we could have em here by next week sometime.

  19. By the way steve, If you click on your icon then map, it says you live in Surrey British Columbia. I assume you know this already though but thought a bit funny as i'm already getting these bearings from the west coast of north america...:)
