Got a new inlet manifold from JK as my heat riser tubes are blocked Anyway this is the one they have sent Has any one fitted one to a 1600 t/p will I need to put gum gum on the new heat riser tubes where They go into the manifold ??? Thanks for any help Peter
if the heat risers are clogged full of soot and carbon, try pouring some white spirit down them and leaving to soak for an hour. Clean the white spirit out and pop some wonder wheels down for a while, this should clean the crap out of them. Ive been using this method on some old heat exchangers for oil coolers at work, did the job brilliantly!
you won't need anything, apart from new manifold rubbers...the riser tubes are an interference fit. You can improve general running by insulating the runners, risers and the cast body, with exhaust wrap.... http://www.demon-tweeks.co.uk/motor...tion/design-engineering-titanium-exhaust-wrap it's not vital, but it retains heat in the manifold....
Got the engine out today Will see if I can clear out the old one using some of the tips above thanks Will let you know Peter
