Discussion in 'Late Bay Parts Classifieds' started by Crancher, Aug 28, 2015.

  1. Does any have for sale or know where I can buy an indicator switch for a 1973 Bay? Its the paddle type with housing.

The indicator switch is VW part No. 211 953 509 H, the manufacturer is SWF and their part number is HLS 201 096.

    Many Thanks

    Nicky

  4. Yes I believe that's the switch in the link. No one seems to stock it, you have to buy second hand.

Which post doesn’t make sense? I had a closer look at Aircooled Museum and they don’t have any in stock – and neither does anywhere else that I looked at.

I'll have a look in the garage in a bit.
Definitely got a few paddle stalks but unsure which ones.

  9. Ill need the housing for it as well, mission impossible?

  10. Hi Crancher. I have a housing you can have if you can cover the post. Just PM me your address and I will post it out. I am assuming it is a 72 - 74 indicator/ Headlight flash switch housing you are after. They are not sided but you obviously need a pair of halves.

  11. Like these?

  12. That looks like what I need :)

  13. Its yours. I only have the housings. Do you need both? Unfortunately I don't have the switch but you are welcome to the housings. You will need to source the screws that hold them together.

  14. The housing would be great. Im getting offers for the switch now. Many thanks..

  15. The reproduction switches sold by VWH were appalling quality when I tried to fit them. The contacts were so poor, they just didn't work, and all for the bargain price of £130. I sent one back and then gave up on the second one and binned it. I ended up using a standard indicator arm off eBay and putting a flash / high beam button on the dash

    I've got:
VW part No. HLS 201 096
    SWF part No. 211 953 509 H
In it's original housing part No. 211 953 515 G if that's any good to you?
I advertised it years ago for £40 including delivery which now sounds a bargain in light of responses up there ^^^

    Pm'd you mate

  20. just so you know you leave a 2mm gap under the base of the steering wheel to the housing to get the self cancelling indicator catch to work.
