Does anyone know the Customs and any other rules on doing this? What's stopping someone from getting on a ferry to Holland in their bus, picking up the caravan, slapping their UK plates on the back, getting back on the ferry before driving straight through Customs and home again? Seems to me that Eribas are quite a bit cheaper in Holland than rip-off Britain.
Join www.eribaforum.co.uk and have a look on there - I'm sure people have done this before and that prices are lower outside of the UK. Be aware, it's not a tlb style bundle of laughs type forum and the traffic is a bit thin, so answers may take a while to appear to any questions you ask.
How do they you you didn't take it with you and your just coming back from your holiday! Do you have proof of ownership docs for a caravan when you go abroad. Just get a proof of sale from who you are buying it from. Do caravans get registered like cars in Europe? Ive been no help at all!
stolen from another place there is loads of info about importing an eriba on the uk eriba forum. www.eribaforum.co.uk The only other consideration is that the rear red foglight is likely to be on the wrong side but If this should concern you, these rear foglights are available, which can be separately mounted, for around a fiver.
I too am interested in bringing one back. Have just signed up to the Eriba forum so we will see what advice is forthcoming.
vat would already have been paid in the country of origin on the initial purchase! You dont pay vat here on a private sale do you!
Noooooooooo! Lovely looking bus with a beast of a motor and you're going to put a caravan on the back???
