Went around to Phil's (pmacs49) tonight to get Bertie going after two years of restoration...mmm, seems we crossed over the HT Leads a bit, and Phil discovers another bodge job, this time on the carburettor... Seems someone had previously broken the carburettor, and fixed it with mastic...looks like it needs a new one...
A blackened melted lump of metal, plastic, and rubber covered in mastic and other bits of crap came out, yes.
Looking at Phil's garage, he probably has a sixpence in there somewhere, but I can't see him ever finding it...
it'll be under that stack of Reader's Digests, with the articles about how to make your rations go further....
I did note he farted on a regular basis while I was there, so didn't feel the slightest bit embarrassed to add to the general ambience myself, quite a volatile environment to erm...backfire.
