Yes that's the nature of it. Then you either do as you plan or sack them all and make more money in less time.
After running someone else's company for them before, I swore I would never take people on. When I got reasonably successful at what I do now (on my own), I realised that if I ever wanted to be able to turn my phone off, I needed employees. Now it's heading for 10 people and starting to get too stressful for my liking - managing people and an organisation is just pure aggravation.
trouble is, you then have moral obligations to families that in effect reduce the natural risk-taking that enabled the setting up of the business!! that old catch 22 again. the saving grace is that the psychopathic tendencies that promoted self employment in the first place tend to anaesthetise the pain of walking away
Did i mention ive put my heater back in too. My hands are ripped to bits and ive skin on my hands like a moisturised crocodile! That and it hurts like hell when i move my thumbs. Id forgotten the cold does that to me. Anyway gonna have some tea and then do some wiring inside the bus so i can have my heater on whilst doing it. Yay.
Because I am stupid and both businesses I've had have been basically me. Without me there would have been nothing to sell. Doh!
Fortunately, my working week only comprises Monday to Thursday giving me the benefit of a long weekend every week which is what currently is keeping me going. A couple of days doing the van and a day to do some walking which is nice. Followed hopefully, in a month or two with 3 days camper-vanning and a lot of walking and mountain climbing!
I've cut my snhifts back noew, I was doing too many in the last half of last year, was !making myself ill really. Now back fdown to one a week to keepl my hand in. Until I need some readies.......
I did try, I had 3 employees doing all the work but the goal posts moved continually and someone had to keep on top of it all. In the end I found it less stressfull to sack them all and do all the work myself.
It's hard to find people who are able to keep on top of a lot of things at the same time, I suppose it has to matter to you enough.
http://www.incrediwear.co.uk/produc...ng-arm-sleeves-for-warmth-and-reduced-fatigue Cant recomend these enough @Dicky . I've got Raynauds, which is baciclly really carp circulation. Been fine with warm pumped up hands for a days icey climbing with these. Pricey but well worth it.
